Sunday Surgery: Radioactive

Now, just pretend  that Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" is  being played while you're reading the blog!! We learned Luke's fate this week and found out Helena was behind it all. 
Ah, good times!!

GET ON your hazzzzzzzzz mat suit and Scrub up! We have some blogging to do! Note: It's an extra long one so..get an extra cup o' joe. Sorry, there's just a lot to dish about.
 





This week was actually pretty awesome. Only one little complaint:  I really loved a lot of scenes but wished they would have been longer. I'll give you some examples of things that were too short.

1. Lucy and Laura dish Deception. Way WAY too short. I think it probably took all of 15 min to shoot and we got about 5 of that on screen.  Come on--- a big fun thing like Deception coming back with two fave ladies talking about it? MORE PLEASE

2. Flea and Mac's Wedding Prep. Ummmmm, we saw the cut scene (down in the blog if you want to read it). Mac and Duke talk about ROBERT coming out of his coma. What genius decided to CUT THAT?!! DUHhhhhhhhh.  

3. Luke and Laura meet. This was a very poignant scene, especially given the fact that we knew what was happening with Luke. His face said it all. Laura was so happy coming back from her honeymoon and he was--dying. MORE PLEASE!! 

4. Danny's sick. Geesh--these scenes are so short (and confusing to me) that I don't really care at this point. Silas bops in here and there--spits out some monotone, mysterious stuff and it's over. I guess we'll be on the hunt for some DNA. Which I HOPE leads to Sam's Daddy. 

On to the rest of the show: 

Maxie finds out she's having a girl. I called it! I also think Georgie may come to her in a dream or something to talk about the baby. Not sure,  just a hunch. Lulu and Dante were so happy--and so were Olivia and Tracy!! Great scene where Lulu tells Tracy she was as much of a parent to her as her own Mom. Luke's face was so wrenching when she told him about his grandbaby. Awww. 

The Jr. Mint Gang. I'm trying to like this story, I really am. But..I can't. It's been done to DEATH on soaps. Vixen, good girl... sex... yada yada. I'm not invested. I HOPE the younger audience likes it as I do realize we have to get them into the fold. So-- here's hoping.

Kiki and Tranco and Ava.  First off, Maura West is awesome. I do like this story but it feels like it's --Over There.  Not in the Port Charles mix much. I was bothered that they were acting like the Q mansion was just there's to take over or something. Where was Monica yelling at them to get out? I also REALLY REALLY see  (and hear)  Starr and Todd, not Franco and Kiki so it's a bit surreal. 

HELENA POISONS LUKE. Be still my heart. If I knew Ron's addy, I'd send him a dang fruit basket.  Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I should have thought of it!! THEN to tie it into Jerry Jack's thing?? BE still my aching heart!! Eeeeee!! Double brilliant. LOVED seeing Helena on the computer, looking all Glamorous. Oh yes. MORE PLEASE!!! I just am sad that Tony is off on his vacation (as Dante said "you can set your watch to it") and we may not see his adventure. BUT, I am thinking that maybe for Fall sweeps he is on his mission and 'visits' Robert (who may wake up and tell everyone about Robin??) and they go FIND HER! 

The Paddy, Britt, Sabetty DNA story. Ah, twisty!! So-- did Britt's mama tamper with all the tests? Looks like it. Britt was all tearing up the results and then Ellie says it's Patrick's kid. THEN Britt gets the text from Evil. Dr. O saying she "took care of it".  We see Britt look at Lante--so could that mean it's really Lante's baby in that belly? Ah.. could be. Britt had access to their embryos! PS.  Like the name "Sabetty"?? :Giggle: 

Felix contiuues to get the good lines, imo and spits them out like butter. Good stuff. 

SCENE OF THE WEEK: You'd think I'd pick Helena telling Luke about the poisoning but No. I have to go with the one that really stood out for me and made me tear up a little. That was when Anna was  looking at her computer when Luke was telling her he was dying.  Wow. I actually had forgotten a bit that they were involved as lovers, so her crying at first, took be by surprise. Then, I thought of their history (before sex too) and it made SO much sense. As always, Finola played it to perfection and it gave me little goosebumps. BRAVA!! 

PROP of the WEEK:  Morgan's cast!! And the story of arm wrestling Big Alice? Brilliant. Plus, the way I feel about Morgan, I was picturing his bone crunching under her strength. heh. 

On to more behind the scenes doings: Lisa LoCicero announced yesterday that she signed a contract to stay on the show. I personally love her and Olivia, so I am very happy with this news. It was also announced that Kelly Sullivan was let go.  I do think she did well with the DID stuff she was given and I really enjoyed her "Connie".  She was front and center for a long time on the show. It's a bit baffling. I was one that did miss Megan Ward as well, but came to respect Kelly after time. She is a GREAT fan fave and really gets into a lot of events and does great PR for the show. 
I also think GH is very bloated right now and could stand to lose some characters. ConKate is kind of written into a corner but she also has family and history.  Again, a bit baffling. Especially since the 'new story' for she and Olivia is fighting over Sonny. I can see her going a bit cray-cray again and being "sent away".  

Hope you're having a good summer. It's been VERY wet here, we are growing mold everywhere! Some of you are baking in the heat. I went to the Rochester Jazz Fest last night and had a blast, btw. "Theo Trombone Shorty" was just so fun. A little Jazz, some Chili peppers and lots of DANCING!!

Olivia is so happy it's a girlie too.  She and Sonny are going to be grandparents. EEE!!

Sunday Surgery: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service

I'd put up a photo of Morgan, Michael and Nik all shirtless--but I can't find any. (ahhaaa, total joke because I'm sure  there are 900 of those).

EVERYONE had their shirt off this week!! When I saw Nik in the park all sparkly with water on his tattoos all I could think of was, huh..he can't go anywhere and get a snack now.  How old am I? LOL.

SO, you know what today will be like. NO SCRUBS required! Come on in topless if you want!! Join the party!!

Ok, if it walks like a Ford Brother, talks like a Ford brother... looks like a Ford brother....well, you get the picture. Morgan IS a Ford brother. Those were snarky guys from OLTL that always had their shirts off. I think Carly had an affair with their skivvy father and didn't tell Sonny at the time. heh. 

 

Oh you KNOW WHAT'S COMIN' HERE!!

Everyone loves Sonny... so here we go with a triangle of his old Bensonhurst Wubs. While I like the idea of Sonny and Olivia, this should have happend YEARS ago when she first came on. But eh.. I'll see how it goes.

So, this week felt all cut-up and "light".  The whole Carly's in trouble was a bust because A) the gun didn't match the bullet and B) Olivia lived.  Bummer, Sonny parading Carly's head around town on a big ol' stick may have been amusing.  We had some Silas (I can't help thinking of Silas Marner when I say that-most boring book I ever had to read in HS). So, he's some sort of Mystery Medical Savant that talks in low-tones and never really says much.   

 

Michael's  actual face finding out Kiki is his cousin  DOH!!

 

Giggle. Oh GIGGLE GIGGLE  on this!! We can spend the summer with Kiki and Michael trying to avoid each other, all while their hormones THROB ahhaaa. Wonder how many times they'll catch each other nekkid. 

Ava Jerome and Duke. We all know she's of the "Jeromes"-- just bring em' on already. Can't live without another crime family doggin' on Sonny for long, can we? 

The Jr. Mints and the Prom. Ah, young love. Molly sure looked into RAFE, didn't she? And giving him her "Maine Squeeze" to read? Um..you are in DENIAL GIRL!! I thought it was absolutely hysterical how he left and 10 minutes later he was back--"Silas changed his mind". Oh, ok then! Maybe I missed the big heartfelt speech they had between themselves about staying? Huh. :scratcheshead: 

ELQ thing..  I don't know, this whole "relish destroyed us" plot is just weird. Now Tranco might take a part? Whatever. He's an ARTIST! Maybe he paint funky murals in the offices.

Liz and Nikolas vs Liz and AJ. No contest in my mind. Just based on history alone. 

You know my bone to pick this week: Sonny going all murderous on Carly when he seems to forget shooting her in the head when she was pregnant. That was an accident too, wasn't it? Having Carly NOT throw that in his face was a major mistake, imo.  She would have remembered that and used it in a heartbeat. Second hypocrite of the day was of course, our Alexis...who actually staged an accident to get rid of a baddie (Helena) and ended up "Killing" Katherine Bell. Which is almost the EXACT same thing Shawn did. NO, she didn't have a gun..but the parapet is a close second. Then there's Alkazar  number one. Um.. what happened to him? Well, he died after she pushed him off a highrise balcony! But hey, who's counting. 
That is a HUGE omission right there...we remember EVERYTHING. And these, my friends are big things.
 

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Nancy Lee Grahn talking with Shawn about her life choices.  She was amazing and just made the whole thing believable. Yes, I can't deal with the content but the acting? Woot! 

PROP OF THE WEEK: Condom!!! Now we just have to wait and see if it was defective.


What did you think of this week? Were you glued to your set? Do you think Taylor will get pregnant? Oh and, BTW..  Britt and Paddy? It is his kid. Set up for a kidnapping by Granny I'm sure. Britt will probably get killed in the process of trying to save it or something. (cue violins). Luke's going to face 'Death" yet again... ho hum. Have a nice vacation, Tony.  
GUESS WHAT? I'm off for the summer from therapy! Only have 3 clients so I should be around a LOT more to spiff up the site and get more into the show. Can you stand me for 2 months? LOL.

Sunday Surgery: Old Wounds

 

Salute

Well...this week was supposed to be EPIC as per the ads out there. 
Did you see Epicness? I was expecting some bloody mayhem...or some two headed long lost 'baby' adult to show up, or at the VERY least someone to die.
I think the epic thing was Sonny getting all mad? "FINDMETHESONOFABITCHTHATDIDTHIS" type of thing? Was it ANOTHER person getting shot? Because..er.. um.. we've seen that.
A LOT. 


*sigh*

Here we go--scrub up, but take your time. After all, even Olivia with a giant bullet wound could wait hours before going into surgery this week! 


So, round and round we go. I thought about everyone who's gotten shot on GH that I remember and hell, the list is too long. Now Olivia can be on it. ConKate got it twice and now it's her cousin's turn!!! The story of Shawn being the WORST HITMAN on the planet played out as flat as a pancake, imo.
Suspense? Uh, no.
Compelling story? :Shrug: 
So, let's review: Carly gets Shawn to shoot at Franco but hits Olivia instead. This makes Sonny mad, Alexis beak up with Shawn after a hot minute and Carly's in trouble. Olivia's in the hospital (again), Dante's all angsty, Franco's smug, Cawnie is emoting and... um... 
what?

Another strange thing? The whole Morgan "Wow, cool, this is the Q mansion"!!?? Like awesome!!  You're a wrestler? Neat-O !! 
Um, what? Okayyyyy. 

Kiki and Franco's discussion would have been  good, if they hadn't already have had that same talk 40x on OLTL before. You could have put "Todd" in for Franco..Starr for Kiki-- all of Todd's "sins" on the list and made Jason be Victor. There. Done. I half expected Blair to walk in. 

 

I'M 27 damn it and I have had sex before!!!  :stomps foot:

Prom time!! Only, it's cancelled due to Port Charles' other past time: crime/killing. All those poor kids, all dressed up and no place to go. 

Laura was on for a bit. I missed it -- hope it was good.

Oh my aching back.

I can't get dressed or move ... I don't ever have back problems like this. It's the one thing that USUALLY doesn't hurt on me! All day on the floor with kiddos will do it. Huge strain. Wub Hub even came home.

TJ and the other chick..well, those WERE some cool shoes, right? Not that I could walk in them. Bad back or no.

Paddy and Sabrina. Whatevs... knowing Robin is out there just. ugh They are PATRINA or so I see on Twitter.
 
I so love Alexis..she's so natural with the girls. Shaun got some SPLAININ' TO DO!!

Shaun...and Sonny, er.. can YOU YELL LOUDER IN THE HALL OF THE HOSPITAL? Good Lord!! And um, isn't Olivia like, on death's door...and she's NOT in surgery yet? No one's in there with her? No transfusions?
How stupid. I'm sorry but at least TRY.... Soaps haven't moved from that to the newer timing of cooler shows. Mistke. Those bedside chats are for coma patients and Olivia had a million.

ARE YOU SHOCKED? The wrong person NEVER gets shot in Port Charles!! AHAAHHAHA. 
Um...you think a hotel is the place to do a hit, Shaun/Sean/Shawn? Not like the general public is just strolling around.

Alexis and Nik-- glad they still talk. Duke and Anna talking about Robin-- and the stupid CUTSIE CUPCAKE CRAP with Paddy and Sabrina. UGH I don't LIKE THEM!! Should have been Liz.  Sabrina still looks 17 to me. 
Emma and Duke were ok. A little much though.


Is Olivia going to die? Because.. well, I don't know, she might.

I must say the #2 got the most votes. I think I only saw a few 5s.  I haven't seen today's show and I'm sure not running to get it on. I'm at a 3--meh. 

 

Sunday Surgery: Pediatric Ward

*sigh* Here we go again... another sick kid?   I guess they are born, get ill or kidnapped (or both) then are SORA'd for our benefit. Ah, the lonely life of a soap-baby.

Get out your rubber duckies, balloons and cartoon scrubbies and join me for a little cup o' Surgery tea... 

 GH this week was another one where I had little time (or patience) for some of it's sheeze.  Geary's time worn "illnesses" are one.  Tracy trying to get him to stay in the hospital, take his meds..yada yada. It's his liver now not his heart. Organ by organ. I think he'd play a hell of a dementia patient. I know people would hate to see that unfold but it could be really gripping if done right. 

Kiki and Michael. MiKi. :eyeroll: Ok, I'm not a savant but one of two things will happen: 

They find out their connection, making their love "forbidden" and ergo WAY more sexy... and they try to fight it only to...
well.
Give in. 
Just when we find out Danny needs some Q bone marrow and Franco steps up only to find out Heather has lied all along and just wanted to mess with everyone and he's really NOT a Q.  THEN The Hunt for Sam's Bio-Dad unleashes.
He'll be a Jerome. 

OR...Kiki and Michael have a full-blown 1st cousin affair and fight for their love while everyone else has an attack.  If they are going for a full out legit affair then they'll probably end up not being cousins. Or if they are, they'll be BFFs ala Carly and Jason. 

whatever.

 Speaking of cousins...these two are just pals now.  What's going to happen with this whole thing? Will Olivia get Sonny's attention somehow? Will Kate keep struggling with her post-Sonny wub? Do you care? My use for Connie is zip. At least Olivia is Dante's mama, can tell what's going to happen and is feisty!

ON to the Sitcom we call "The Odd Company"... combo Odd-Couple Jack and Chrissy and Janet. Britt staying with them is pretty weird but funny. Now Felix's kid sis will be in the mix. Like I said, is this a four bedroom?  The living room is the size of a pea.  Britt ordering people around as if she needs a baby sitter. ugh. Trying to get Britt's blood. Britt and Brad. Brad and Ellie. Well, at least fans of Paddy and Sabrina will be happy they make love soon. 

The Q's is the new brownstone with everyone movin' on in! Poor Monica--and poor cook!! Where's Alice been?  The Toddification of Franco is almost complete. Now that StarrKi walked in and RH and KA are once more daughter/father, he can stop pretending to be the 'artist' all together! Roger delivered during the fun Q scenes but I'm hoping there's more meat to this than fighting over the damn shares of stock.

The Jr. Mints will be off to the PROM soon, and then another bratty girl comes on in. Christine Collins. (sounds like a vampire Joan Collins mix) -- Felicia and Laura can be her mentors. Lucy's hatching a new plan. Duke laughs it up with Emma. 

Oh, you know how I felt about the whole "Shaun/Sean/Shawn" hit-man attempt. What the. COME ON!! In a courthouse? At the Qs?  ugh. Now Alexis is going to find out and be pissed. Especially when he shoots the wrong person. Who do you think it will be? I think a female close to Sonny and or Carly.

 

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Monica/Tracy-- they are so Dorian/Vicky in a way. You love it when they come together over a crisis. 

PROP of the WEEK: towels everywhere!! Kiki had it on... Michael had one on.  Morgan at one point had one on.
