LINE OF THE LAST five YEARS LOL!

THERE YOU GO!! My fave part of this last week was Laura slappin' LUKE!! LOL That and Helena's outfit!!
I'm  in heaven after watching the Marathon yesterday. SWOON. Wow...my memories were in overdrive. Those were the days.

SOAPnet Marathon: Are You Watching?

I am seriously dying here. OMG.. Diana Taylor, the cottage the OLD NURSES' uniforms!! AlexQuartermaine. 
WOW.. Heather was a pill even then. ALWAYS obsessed with a man. Jeff, Joe.. you name it. Poor Diana...that was  a huge murder mystery and I read NO spoilers LOL.

And the Ice Princess  Episode!! There was Ruby and Laura looking like a Bond GIRL!! Tristan Roger's accent was so much thicker.!!

Fake Waterfall (Which I probably thought was real).  The way Laura's voice made Luke's heart melt.

I had a Black and White TV in college so I saw most of the early 80's eppies on that. I didn't care!! I loved GH anyway I could get it.  It finally went to an hour in 1978 and we were in heaven. I so wanted Laura's dress:

Rick Sprinfield was on GH when his "Jessie's Girl" broke in the charts..he got HUGELY POPULAR.  It was great for GH because girlies tuned in just to see him. Claudia and Bryan. I loved Claudia. Burt Ramsey and we all know about THAT HUGE HUGE reveal!! eeeee!!


Also note the actors' voices/cadence and THEATER training. ALL of them had done some theater (at least the older ones) and you can so tell. Brilliant. Even their articulation was perfect. Swoon. 
No GIRLIE VOICE hoarseness and running out of breath!! 

 

Scotty so hated Laura..wow.. I forgot about that..and Lee's whole involvement. His drinking storyline was really innovative back then.

Meanwhile, Katie took to the GH set for a special 20/20 special  to air on April 6th-- are we lucky or what? I still say thank you the old regime is gone.  I can't imagine we'd have anything but a bullet-bomb montage. LOL

I'm having a damn Cuervo Gold during today's show. :)

Anyway, Laura and Luke are now on the ship-- LOVED Connie's Silver SUIT! She looked so good. Yeah to Helena.  Sigh...;)  You could so tell by Helena's face that her sons are not dead. Did you see that gleam?
"You'd eat your own young with a chaser of Ouzo" LOL LUKE!! 
Helena calls Alexis by her given name, Natasha. Alexis was Natasha Cassadine and changed it to Alexis Davis.

Liz tells AJ about her affair with Nikolas.. he's  like "huh".  Well, whatever.

Felicia loves both Frisco and Mac. Surprise.


Could have lived without SpinELLIE..they were a buzz kill.  SO, Ellie doesn't want kids. Wow there's a plot device  if I ever saw one.

I think the DWTS guy is going to be a Cassadine, if not Valentine? Hmmmmm.  

Dante at the end,  he was so "Bond" Frogman!!! LOL

That's right!! LOVED it when Bobbie said she'd hope Lucas would find a nice man to marry!! :) Here's hoping Lucas comes back to GH. Poor kid has been in diabetic camp forever. (Ok, I know that's not true but let me dream)

Listening to the Supreme Court audio has fascinated me -- and made my stomach churn. I feel so strongly about this, makes my teeth ache! We are on the cusp of history and hopefully witnessing that people are people and love is love.

"Xtina" says goodbye:

It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that my time at Port Charles has come to an end. I’m not sure where Kristina is headed next but it was a beyond amazing opportunity to portray her…be part of the Davis Girls…have the Corinthos’ passion and temper run though my veins and to witness history being made on this momentous show! I learned so much and am so grateful for the friendships I’ve made and experiences I’ve had. GH will always have a special place in my heart and I cannot thank y’all enough for tuning in loyally to watch me live my dream. But more importantly, THANK Y’ALL for your endless love, letters, support, encouragement, kind words, even the little hello’s or a sweet smiley face…that love kept me going when I had difficulty navigating through Kristina’s and my own journey this past year. Whenever I felt lost, I never truly felt alone and for that, I am eternally gratefully. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your love. Thank you. Now keep watching GH!! The Nurses’ Ball is mere days away!!

Oh, More Prospect Park ...

Entertainment Weekly ran an article today stating "Prospect Park loses actors to GH"...so. in the GOOD news, Roger, Kristen and Michael will be on GH. Bad news? THEY WILL BE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.

so...we joked about "Man Todding and Comet Todding and  Mick MaclenBar. or something. 

EW has confirmed that Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson  — who reprised their roles as John McBain and Starr Manning on ABC’s General Hospital while Prospect Park ironed out details for OLTL’s online version — won’t return to their old soap once it debuts April 29 on The Online Network. Instead, ABC is reportedly figuring out a way to keep them on General Hospital, but in different roles, according to a TV Guide report.

As it stands, Prospect can’t even use the original websites for OLTL and AMC because ABC hasn’t released them. (Anyone who tries to access them is immediately sent to ABC’s daytime hub).

 Friday, March 29 at 10:00 PM ET/PT and running through Monday, April 1 at 12:00 AM ET/PT (Sunday night/Monday morning), SOAPnet will be airing a 50-hour marathon of 51 classic episodes from the 50 years of ABC’s “General Hospital.”
The marathon is kicked off with the very first episode of the drama series, which aired on April 1, 1963. Episodes from every decade the show has been on the air will be featured.

To Answer some Questions....

I am not turning this blog OFF... it will still be here. I will post now and again with photos or promos or things I find on the net you might like.  I can't post daily recaps because I'm not watching consistently. 
Alberta's little page is up there so I can't just delete this, I'd lose all our history! 

THANK YOU For the outpouring of wub-- I have heard from people that I haven't heard from in YEARS--on all my old emails lol. I had no idea that many of you still read this or visited the Wubs Net. 

If you subscribe to the blog, I believe you will get updates when I post. There should be a DSS feed down the side too.

I will probably post now and again until the Ball and then try to post during that week since I'm on vacation. I thought for sure I had the third week in April off but because Easter is so early, we got that week off. 
Thank GOODNESS I didn't buy plane tickets based on that info :)

Sunday Surgery: Last Call

When I added the type to this I was cheering! 

My first web page is dated 6/6/99.  Those were the days I was trying to figure out this HTML jazz so I could post a little thing called "The Lazy Lobster Pub". The pub was just something fun and it also had a page called "The LukeSon Lounge". I was writing my WUBS for Gedstern and getting to know the whole GH community on the AOL boards and Soap Zone. When Laura handed the reigns over to me in 2002, little did I know how long I'd be doing the site, and then a blog and live tweeting the show.

But, as all things must end--it's time for me to go. I don't want to be all drama on you but there's a hell of a lot of memories to cover so get your scrubs on one last time, lather up, grab a scotch and have a seat.  We've got some ground to cover! 



Most of you know the history of the first soap pages on the web. Soap Zone (Port Charles Message Board) , Callan's site and Gedstern's were it for a few years. The sources we had were amazing..and shocking. I would love to write a book with Laura some day and tell some juicy stories!   I was at home with my son, missing my full time job and just started writing parody stuff on the AOL message boards for a lark. Geddy picked the up and the rest is well... Wubulous. 

My first interview was with Billy Warlock and I will be forever grateful to him for that. Not many stars were doing them for websites and after he opened the door, I managed to snag quite a few GH actors. One of my favorites was the late John Ingle. You can see them all here Wub Interviews  The pages are ancient so don't laugh!!! Of course, my newer interviews can be found right here on the blog. 

I was honored to run Connie Tower's website for 9 years and help with her Hell's Belles Fan Club. We developed a friendship over time and would snail mail everything.  Watching Helena rise in popularity was a great joy for me.  Can't wait to have her back where she belongs--in Port Charles.

On the site I tried to do some cryptic things to keep people guessing rather than just letting the spoilers fly. I loved it.  Bob Guza and Co. always kept me busy with my snarks and sheer enjoyment of parodying their scripts. 

I finally began blogging and really found a way to connect with a lot of GH fans in a way the spoilers site wouldn't allow.  Daytime Confidential had me on for a few of their ABC Podcasts and that was a ton of fun. Then came Twitter. Ah, Twitter!! Being able to live tweet my mouthy thoughts to people when the show was actually AIRING?? --well...amazing. 

Although I've never made it to a GH Fan Weekend, I have attended a few small events in NYC and Toronto. I've loved meeting so many people and of course, having my lobster Alberta's photo taken with the actors! Quite a few wub fans have taken Alberta with them to events, the Habitat House build and even on set.  Alberta participated in two AIDS walks with GH fans and actors as well. She went on two soap cruises and even got to meet James Franco at the infamous MOCA shoot. Not too bad for an adorable stuffed mascot! 

Alberta's been on the GH set three times. Badger Bob was her favorite meet/greet!

I really wish I could say why I decided to leave now--of all times, when the  50th Anniversary is coming and the Nurses' Ball is going to run. I guess it's because I've gone back to work and feel neglectful if I'm not on top of things like I should be.  This spring will be HUGE and I just won't be able to keep up.  
We lived through the Phelps, Guza Pratt years, hoped GH would last and be fun again. I think that has happened. We have our Hospital back -- and many of our beloved vets as well. 

THANK YOU for reading my stuff every week and putting up with my crazy GH moods! I hope I've been a source of fun, information and news over the years for all of you. I will probably write now and again about certain things like Ingo on DWTS or tidbits here and there, we'll see. It's going to be hard to walk away, that's for sure.

Take care all you Wubbers! Remember our HUGE Times when it comes to the show--all the bombs, guns and blood we lived through. People disappearing into the GH storage room-- babies switched and NuFaces popping up. Fronkies and all the weird props--- the docks and the launch that could sail out to Wyndemere in the middle of winter.  The catacombs, tunnels and of course, our beloved parapet. All part of wubs lore.

Watch Classic GH Episodes on SOAPnet!

March 29th at 10pm EST, SOAPnet will air 50 classic episodes of General Hospital--many of which are really Classic!! They will air one episode from each decade.

I am hoping for the Diana Taylor killing, the Tracy Q meds to Edward... the roof falling on Alan/Monica...and many more!!
